Here two siblings of the same family died suddenly due to an ‘unknown disease’, while their mother is also seriously ill and hospitalized. According to the information, this heart -wrenching incident took place in Serengadag block of Lohardaga district. It was completely unpredictable for the villagers and family members. So far, doctors are also having trouble understanding what kind of disease made the children of the same family their victims and made their mother seriously ill. A team of doctors and health officers have reached the spot and have started health check-ups of the victim’s family as well as other people of the area, so that if it is an infectious disease, it can be prevented from spreading. The incident reminds me of some suspicious deaths in last year’s Bokaro district, where some people were allegedly killed by an unknown disease, due to which some people were killed. This time too, these deaths in Ranchi have created a serious public health concern. In rural areas, where health services are often not enough, such ‘unknown’ diseases can pose even more threats.
