DRM took over ‘school’ of official language

1. All files should be in Hindi: DRM clearly said that from now on most of the files, noting and correspondence should be done only in Hindi.
2. Name board and information board in Hindi: Hindi should be given prominence on the sign boards, name plates and information boards installed in all the stations and offices of the division.
3. Train Chart and Reservation Slip: All information provided to passengers, such as train charts and reservation slips, must be in both Hindi and English.
4. Those working in Hindi will get reward: Employees and officers who will do their work in the best possible manner in Hindi will also be rewarded to encourage them.
5. Hindi also on website and social media: Emphasis was also laid on updating all the information in Hindi on the official website and social media handles of the division.

Why is so much emphasis being given to Hindi?

According to the Official Language Policy of the Central Government, it is mandatory to conduct official work in Hindi in all central offices. Railways is also ensuring that this policy is followed. Its objective is not only to promote one language, but also so that the common man, who is the majority population of the country, can easily understand the functioning of the Railways in their own language.
