Work on an ambitious mega project aimed at strengthening and high-speed road transport infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh has been started rapidly. The state government is soon going to construct a new and modern ‘Vindhya Expressway’ from Prayagraj to Sonbhadra. As soon as this new expressway comes on the ground, the road network of Uttar Pradesh will be directly and easily connected to many neighboring states. This will not only significantly reduce the travel time for common passengers, but will also give tremendous impetus to industrial and business activities in the entire Vindhya and Purvanchal region.
333 kilometer long expressway: The route will pass through 341 villages in 4 districts.
This far-reaching and strategic expressway will have a total length of 333 kilometers. Its starting point has been fixed from Prayagraj, after which it will reach Sonbhadra, touching the borders of Bhadohi and Mirzapur districts. A total of 341 villages in 4 districts are covered under the scope of this entire project. A total of 4913.93 hectares (about 4 crore 91 lakh 39 thousand 300 square meters) of vast land will be used for the construction of the expressway.
How much land will be acquired in which district? Know district wise figures
The largest share of land acquisition for the construction of Vindhya Expressway is coming in Sonbhadra district. 2019.64 hectares of land from maximum 108 villages of Sonbhadra will be taken for this project. Mirzapur district is at second place, where 1258.79 hectares of land of 91 villages will be acquired. Apart from this, 862.76 hectares of land of 84 villages of Prayagraj district and 772.74 hectares of land of 58 villages of Bhadohi district are coming under the purview of this expressway project.
Land verification process expedited: Special district level committee will be formed
In view of the huge requirement of land, the paper process of land verification is being settled very fast by the government and administration. Revenue Department teams are engaged in thorough investigation of land records. As soon as the verification work is completely completed, a special committee will be formed at the district level in the four concerned districts. The primary function of this committee will be to decide fair and transparent rates of land for registry by directly talking to farmers and land owners. On the basis of this fixed assessment, the settlement process will be completed by giving compensation, after which the construction work will start rapidly.
