Latehar, 27 May (HS). On Monday, the police disclosed the murder of the wife who was becoming a hindrance in the love affair of brother-in-law and sister-in-law. In this case, the police arrested the accused brother-in-law Manroop Singh and sister-in-law Kalavati Devi and sent them to jail.
In a press conference regarding this, Latehar SP Anjani Anjan said that on May 23, Munita Devi was found hanging from a noose in a suspicious condition in Guwa village under Chhipadohar police station area of Latehar district. In this case, a case was also registered in the police station by the family of the deceased, suspecting murder.
During the investigation of the case, the police conducted a raid and on the basis of suspicion, detained the deceased woman's husband Manroop Singh and his sister-in-law Kalavati Devi and started questioning them. When the police interrogated them strictly, both the accused admitted that they had killed Munita Devi by strangulating her and hanged her to hide the evidence. During the interrogation, the accused told that Manroop Singh and Kalavati Devi were in a love affair for the last two years. Meanwhile, a month ago, Manroop Singh got married to Munita Devi.
Even after marriage, Manroop Singh and his sister-in-law's love affair continued. When Munita Devi opposed this, both of them together planned to kill her. Under this plan, on May 23, both of them together strangled Munita Devi to death and later hanged her with the help of her dupatta. SP said that both the accused have accepted their crimes. Both were arrested and sent to jail.
