Shefali’s first marriage was with famous actor Harsh Chhaya. Like every relationship, the beginning was good, but gradually that relationship started feeling suffocated which was difficult to describe.

The one feeling that changed everything
Shefali revealed in a recent conversation that at that time she started feeling that if she stayed in that relationship, it would “kill” her. Here ‘death’ did not mean physical, but mental and spiritual death. She began to feel that she was losing her identity and was carrying a burden that she could no longer bear.

Chose loneliness, but found peace
Often people live together in fear of how they will live alone. But Shefali saw that ‘loneliness’ as a safe haven. He told that at that time his peace of mind was most important for him. He thought it better to get out of that toxic environment and live alone, rather than staying in a relationship that was destroying him every moment.

Being happy is a ‘choice’
Shefali’s story reminds us that no matter what society says, we are responsible for our own happiness and dignity. She controlled herself during that period, focused on her career and later built a happy world of her own with producer Vipul Shah. This shows that instead of crying all your life over a wrong decision, the right path is to leave it behind and move on.
