He told how evergreen actor Dev Anand gave him a unique advice to bring this song to life. This song is still considered one of the best romantic songs of Bollywood and it shows the magic of Asha Bhosle’s singing clearly in it.
Asha Bhosle recalled that when he first sang the song, Dev Anand felt that there was some shortage. He requested him to sing again, but for the second time he did not get complete satisfaction. Then he asked Asha ji what he thinks of what the deficiency is
Asha ji replied that she is working with such songs during her lifetime that required more ‘Aaa’ (actress/beauty) or sexuality, such as songs for actresses like Vyjayanthimala and Madhubala.
On this, Dev Anand smiled and said, “Look, hope if you imagine that you are not a Vyjayanthimala and you are just a young girl of 18 years.
