Tomato again spoiled the budget of vegetarians

If you are a vegetarian, then the burden of eating on your pocket has increased further in the month of August. According to the report, the price of Veg Thali increased by 7% in August compared to July. This is the third consecutive month when the vegetarian plate has become expensive.

If we compare with this month of last year, then this increase is even more shocking. The vegetarian plate has become 24% more expensive this year than August last year.

Why did the veg plate become expensive?
Its biggest villain was ‘tomato’. In August, tomato prices rose by 69% as compared to July. Apart from this, there was an increase in the prices of onion and potato, which spoiled the entire budget of the vegetarian plate.

Non-veg eaters ‘bat-bat’

On the other hand, for those who are fond of eating non-veg, the month of August brought a sigh of relief. The report states that the price of non-veg plate has fallen by 3% in August.

Why did the non-veg plate become cheap?
The biggest reason for this was the decrease in broiler chicken prices. Chicken prices fell from 3 to 5% in August. Although the rest of the things used in non-veg plate became expensive, the heavy fall in chicken prices reduced the total expenses. Despite this, if compared to last year, then non-veg plate is also 11% expensive.

It is clear that the month of August was mixed in the case of inflation. While tomatoes and vegetables harassed vegetarians, chicken gave some relief to the non -vegetarians. It remains to be seen how the taste of our plate is when the festive season starts.
