News India Live, Digital Desk: In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, 69000 assistant teacher recruitment candidates have once again raised their demands. On Wednesday, a large number of candidates came to protest and gherao in front of the Assembly, after which an atmosphere of chaos was created in the entire area. These youth, who were adamant on their demand for appointment, had a heated clash with the police. Police had to use force to control the protesters, due to which many candidates were injured and dozens were detained and sent to Eco Garden.
Uproar outside the assembly demanding appointment
The patience of 69,000 reserved category candidates for teacher recruitment, who have been agitating for a long time, ended today. In the morning, the candidates suddenly gathered near Gate No. 1 of the Assembly and started raising anti-government slogans. The protesters say that they have been pleading for justice for the last several years, but are getting only assurances from the government and the department. As soon as the candidates started protesting in front of the Assembly, the security personnel tried to remove them from there, which led to a scuffle and clash.
Heated clash between police and candidates
The heavy police force present on the spot started forcibly removing the protesters by loading them into buses. During this, many women candidates lay down on the road and protested against the police action. In this tussle between the candidates and the police, the clothes of many youth were torn and some were also slightly injured. The police showed strictness and vacated the assembly road and packed all the protesters in buses and sent them to the protest site ‘Eco Garden’. Due to this uproar, there was a traffic jam on Hazratganj and Vidhansabha road for a long time.
What is the whole controversy and the demand of the candidates?
The matter of recruitment of 69000 teachers has been stuck in legal and administrative complications for a long time. The main allegation of the protesting candidates is that the rules of reservation have been ignored in this recruitment, due to which thousands of eligible OBC and SC category candidates have been left out of selection. Recently, after the decision of the double bench of Allahabad High Court, the candidates were hopeful that a new merit list will be released, but there is a lot of anger among the candidates due to the delay in the process. Their demand is that the government should start appointments on the basis of the revised list as soon as possible.
