Ayodhya Ram Mandir SIT Investigation: Strict order from SIT – Trust people should not leave Ayodhya till the investigation is completed, major irregularities found in records

The ongoing investigation into the alleged misuse of offerings and donations in the grand Ram temple of Ayodhya has now reached a very serious point. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case has given strict instructions to the key officials and officials associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the temple administration not to go anywhere except Ayodhya at present. According to strong sources related to the temple and the investigation, during the initial investigation, the SIT has found many major irregularities and financial irregularities in the documents and records of gold, silver, diamonds and other precious gems offered by the devotees.

SIT’s action before returning to Lucknow, discrepancy in the calculation of gold, silver and diamonds

The three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Uttar Pradesh government issued this strict order before returning to the Lucknow headquarters on Sunday. According to sources, the main focus of the investigation is the details of gold and silver jewellery, precious diamonds and gems offered to Lord Ram by devotees from India and abroad. The investigating agencies are strictly investigating whether all these secret and public offerings were properly documented as per rules or not.

It is being told that during the marathon interrogation, some top officials of the Temple Trust could not give any satisfactory or logical answer to the questions related to the list of these valuable items, their safe maintenance and audit.

Fear of embezzlement during Mahakumbh, donation boxes were filled within a few hours

Sources claim that the roots of this entire controversy may be related to the period of Mahakumbh organized in January and February 2025. At that time, there was an unprecedented influx of devotees in Ayodhya and lakhs of devotees were coming every day to have darshan of Ramlala.

According to statistics, about 10 lakh devotees paid obeisance at the temple every day for more than two months. Due to this huge crowd, the donation boxes kept in the temple premises were completely filled to the brim with notes and precious jewelery within just a few hours. The laxity of the monitoring system and the alleged negligence in accounting during this period of excessive offerings has now become the biggest subject of investigation by the SIT.

Land purchase and construction material are also under investigation, daily reports are being sent to CMO.

This investigation of SIT is not limited only to the money or gold missing from the donation boxes, but its scope is quite wide. The investigation team is investigating the entire process of purchasing land worth crores of rupees done by the temple trust at various stages and the construction material procured for the construction of the temple. Officials are also deeply investigating whether the prices of the lands purchased by the Trust around the temple were deliberately shown to be much higher than the then market rates.

Keeping in view the sensitivity of this high-profile case, the daily progress report being prepared on the basis of inquiries from the Trust officials is being kept completely safe in digital form. SIT is sending its confidential daily investigation report directly to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). After a thorough investigation of all aspects is completed and the report is finalized, it will be directly submitted to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after which major legal action is expected.

After political turmoil, high-level SIT was formed on June 13.

Let us tell you that there was an uproar in the country’s politics after the alleged misuse of donated funds for Ayodhya Ram temple and allegations of rigging in land deals. Many other political parties, including the main opposition Samajwadi Party (SP), had cornered the government and the trust over this issue.

Amidst the growing controversy and all-round political pressure, the Uttar Pradesh government had officially constituted this Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 13, on the request of the Temple Trust itself. This high-level three-member team includes very strict officers like Lucknow Division Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police (IG) Kiran S and Special Secretary of Finance Department Neel Ratan. The government has given this team the responsibility of revealing the layers of the case with complete honesty and impartiality without any pressure.
