Silk sector remains a strong base of self-reliance and employment in Yogi government


Lucknow, 30 July. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is working with full commitment for the overall development of the silk sector, increase in the income of farmers and employment generation. State Khadi and Village Industries, Silk, Handloom and Textiles Minister Rakesh Sachan said this in the review meeting held at Silk Directorate, Lucknow on Thursday. He conducted a detailed review of various schemes, budget expenditure, training programs and administrative works of the department.

Instructions to provide benefits of schemes on time
The Minister instructed the officials that the benefits of all the schemes of the Silk Department should be delivered to the eligible beneficiaries in a timely, transparent and effective manner. He clearly said that any kind of negligence will not be accepted in the implementation of the schemes. Also special emphasis was laid on physical verification of schemes, regular monitoring and completion of works within the stipulated time-frame.

Instructions for making action plan related to training and self-employment
Rakesh Sachan directed to ensure quality training in the training centers and prepare an effective action plan to connect the trained beneficiaries with self-employment and silk production. While reviewing the budget expenditure, he asked to ensure as per rules and timely utilization of the approved funds. Besides, instructions were given to verify the expenditure of each item and submit a detailed report.

Apart from this, instructions were given to send time-bound proposals and establish better coordination to ensure maximum benefit of the Central Government schemes to the state. Senior officials of the department including Additional Chief Secretary BL Meena were present in the meeting.
