Padma Awards 2025: The central government announced the names of the winners of the Padma Awards 2025 on Saturday (January 25), ahead of the Republic Day. This list includes many anonymous Padma awardees. A total of 139 celebrities will be honored with the country’s highest civilian honour. Celebrities from the entertainment world are also included in this.
Padma Vibhushan to late Smt. Sharda Sinha of Bihar, Padma Bhushan to Karnataka director Ananth Nag, Padma Bhushan to Nandamuri Balakrishna, Padma Bhushan to late singer Pankaj Udhas, Padma Bhushan to director Shekhar Kapur, Padma Bhushan to Tamil actor S. Ajit Kumar was awarded the Padma Bhushan, Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer Shobhana Chandrakumar was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Singer Arijit Singh has been awarded the Padma Shri, Indian actress and dancer Mamta Shankar has been awarded the Padma Shri and many other Indian artists have been awarded the Padma Shri.
On receiving the Padma Award, Tamil actor Ajith Kumar said, ‘I heartily thank the Honorable President of India Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this honour. It is a privilege to be honored at such a high level and I am extremely grateful for this generous recognition of my contribution to my country.
The Padma Award, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, is awarded in three categories. Which includes Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The award recognizes excellence in various fields such as arts, social work, public affairs, science, engineering, commerce, industry, medicine, literature, education, sports and civil services.
