The mild coolness has now been replaced by monsoon-like heavy rains and strong winds, due to which shivering and trembling is felt even during the day. The reason for this sudden change is the cyclonic storm arising from the Bay of Bengal. ‘Montha’ (Cyclone Montha)whose effect is now visible on the entire state.

From Purvanchal to Lucknow, weather patterns changed

The biggest impact of this cyclonic storm Eastern Uttar Pradesh (Purvanchal) It is being seen in the districts of Uttar Pradesh, but now its scope has increased to the capital. Lucknow And has reached central UP.

Since Thursday night, it is cloudy in many districts including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Deoria, Ballia and it is raining intermittently, sometimes heavy and sometimes light. Due to this rain, a huge drop of 5 to 6 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the day temperature, due to which people are feeling cold even during the day.

A mountain of troubles fell upon the farmers

This changed pattern of weather is no less than a disaster for the farmers. This is the time of harvesting of paddy crop. After months of hard work, when the crop is ready, this untimely rain is spoiling all their dreams.

  • Crops spread in the fields: Due to strong winds and rain, the paddy crop standing in the fields has been scattered on the ground.
  • Harvested Difficulty: Due to water logging in the fields, harvesting work has completely stopped.
  • Risk of crop rot: If water remains in the fields for a few more days, both harvested and standing crops will get washed away and ruined, due to which farmers will have to face huge financial losses.

How will the weather be in the next 24 hours?

The Meteorological Department has predicted that rain will continue in many parts of the state for the next 24 to 48 hours.

  • Rain Alert: Warning of heavy rain has been issued in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
  • Cold will increase: After the rainy season stops, the sky will clear and north-westerly winds will gain strength, due to which the minimum temperature will drop rapidly and the cold will increase further.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to be alert and take out warm clothes in view of the changing weather. Overall, the ‘Montha’ storm has given a strong start to winter in Uttar Pradesh at the end of October itself.
