News India Live, Digital Desk: Gujarat Assembly Election: With the sound of assembly elections in Gujarat, the political temperature has reached the seventh sky. Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, during his visit to Gujarat, has given a statement which has created a storm in the politics of the state. Giving a direct and open challenge to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he said that “If you have courage, remove the police from Gujarat just for a day, then you will know whose side the people are with.”

While addressing a public meeting, Kejriwal was seen in his full aggressive style. He alleged that the BJP is ruling Gujarat by showing fear of the police and administration and is perturbed by the increasing popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party.

“We go among the public, you hide behind the police”

Kejriwal said that whenever he comes to Gujarat, BJP people send police to stop his programs and threaten their workers.

He roared from the stage and said, “Today I challenge the BJP, if you have the courage, remove the police just for a day. We will go among the people without the police, you also go. Then let’s see whom the people of Gujarat welcome and whom they drive away.”

Kejriwal claimed that Aam Aadmi Party is getting a lot of love from the people of Gujarat and BJP is scared of this. He said, “You people are a party of goons, you are afraid to go among the public. We are common people, we have no fear. Our security shield is the people of Gujarat.”

Why did Kejriwal give this controversial statement?

Political analysts are considering this statement of Kejriwal as part of a well-thought-out strategy.

  • Image of ‘Strong Leader’: Through this statement, Kejriwal is trying to show that he is not afraid of pressure from BJP and has the courage to respond to it in its own language.
  • Playing the ‘Victim Card’: He is also trying to send the message that BJP is trying to stop AAP by misusing the government machinery, which may help him get public sympathy.
  • Enthusiasm among workers: Such aggressive statements also fill a new zeal and enthusiasm among the party workers.

This statement of Kejriwal has come at a time when the election atmosphere is at its peak in Gujarat. It is certain that BJP will react strongly to this statement, which will further intensify the war of words between the two parties in the coming days. But with this one statement, Kejriwal has made it clear that this time he has entered the election field of Gujarat with the intention of not just fighting but also winning.
