Farmers got compensation of Rs 8,000 crore for Noida International Airport, a big change in lifestyle

Farmers have been given huge compensation during the land acquisition for the construction of Noida International Airport. So far, more than Rs 8,000 crore has been paid to 7,000 farmers in exchange for their land. This compensation has brought a big change in the lifestyle of farmers.

3,000 farmers got compensation in the first phase

• Village:
  In the first phase, farmers of Rohi, Parohi, Dayanatpur, Ranhaira, Banwari Bans, and Kishorepur villages gave their land.
• land:
  About 1,239.14 hectares of land was acquired.
• Compensation:
  ₹3,688 crore was paid as compensation to these farmers.

4,000 farmers will benefit in the second phase

• Village:
  The second phase includes Ranhaira, Kuraib, Karauli Bangar, Dayanatpur, Birampur, and Mudharh villages.
• land:
  About 1,181 hectares of land was acquired.
• Compensation:
  ₹4,328 crore was spent in this phase.

Change in lifestyle of farmers

A large-scale change has been seen in the lifestyle of farmers after receiving compensation:

1. New vehicles:
   Farmers have bought cars and bullet bikes with the compensation money.
2. New Investment:
   • New land has been purchased in other districts for farming.
   • Many farmers have invested in businesses and shops.
3. Inclination towards business:
   • Farmers have started businesses to increase their income.

Most land for airport from villages

Most of the land for Noida International Airport has been taken from farmers of nearby villages.

• Farmers were given compensation in exchange for 2,420 hectares of land acquired in the first phase.
• This compensation from the project proved to be economically important for the farmers.
