The state government has planned to fill about 1 lakh new posts in the police force during the year 2026-27. Of these, the Chief Minister has issued strict instructions regarding the recruitment process for more than 81,000 posts. The purpose of this big step is not only to open the doors of employment for the youth, but also to make the law and order system of the state modern and strong. This is considered to be the biggest recruitment drive so far under ‘Mission Employment’.
From Sub-Inspector to Computer Operator: Complete details of posts
In this recruitment scheme of Yogi government, not only constables but also many technical and administrative posts have been included. According to official information, more than 81,000 vacancies proposed include 32,679 posts of Civil Police Constable, more than 4,800 posts of Sub-Inspector (SI), Radio Assistant Operator, Computer Operator Grade-A and Confidential Sub-Inspector. The Chief Minister has clarified that these recruitments will be completed in a time bound manner so that energetic and technically competent youth can be included in the police force.
Home Guard recruitment and exam preparations in full swing
Along with police recruitment, there is a big stir in the Home Guard department also. The recruitment process for 41,424 Home Guard posts in the state is in the final stages. According to the report, the dates of written examination for Home Guard recruitment have been fixed as 25, 26 and 27 April 2026. The Chief Minister has given strict instructions to the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) that all examinations should be conducted with complete transparency, fairness and use of technology. There will be strict security arrangements at the examination centers so that there is no scope for any kind of rigging.
CM’s emphasis on transparency and modern technology
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during the review meeting of the police department, directed the officers to adopt the policy of ‘zero tolerance’ in the recruitment process. He said that the basis of selection should be only ‘merit’. Recruitment boards have been instructed to use biometric verification and digital mechanisms so that the entire process remains foolproof. Apart from this, the state government has also paid special attention to increasing the number of women police personnel, so that the trial and safety of women in the police stations can be further strengthened.
