The biggest attraction of Kamakhya temple is the Prasad available here, which is ‘Ambubachi Clothing’ Or called ‘Angavastra’.

Before closing the doors of the temple, a white cotton cloth is kept near the idol of the Mother Goddess.

When the doors are opened after three days, the cloth is found drenched in red color from the touch of the mother’s body. This cloth is distributed among the devotees in the form of ‘blood cloth’, wearing which is considered extremely auspicious and brings happiness and prosperity.

Kamakhya temple is considered to be the stronghold of ‘Aghoris’ and ‘Tantriks’. During the Ambubachi fair, thousands of Tantriks from India and abroad come here to awaken their siddhis. There is no idol of the mother here, but a shilakhand (stone) which is worshiped in the form of a yoni.
