Chance of rain and hailstorm with strong winds in Uttar Pradesh


Kanpur, 19 February (HS). A cyclone along with the activity of Western Disturbance is affecting the weather of Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, there is a possibility that strong winds will blow locally from Western Uttar Pradesh to Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, there will be light and moderate rain at some places and hailstorm also cannot be ruled out. This change in weather is likely to affect crop production.

Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, said on Monday that two western disturbances, one in the middle tropospheric westerly winds, move in the form of a trough north of 60 degrees east longitude and 30 degrees north latitude. Another Western Disturbance is present in the form of a cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan and surrounding areas. An induced cyclonic circulation is over central Pakistan extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Jet stream winds with maximum speed of 140 knots are blowing about 12.6 km above mean sea level over North and adjoining Central India. Looking at these weather activities, there is going to be a change in the weather of Uttar Pradesh once again. From late night today till 21st February, rain activities along with strong winds can be seen in western to eastern Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, there is also a possibility of thunder and hailstorm.

Told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 27.6 and the minimum temperature was 12.2 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 77 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 44 percent. The direction of the winds was north-east with an average speed of 3.8 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, due to light to moderate cloud cover in the next five days in Kanpur, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall along with strong winds, thunderstorms and hailstorm at local level between 20th and 21st February.
