News India Live, Digital Desk: In the last round of campaigning for West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a huge public meeting in Jorasanko, Kolkata. CM Yogi, in his usual style, launched a scathing attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that TMC “goons” are destroying the rich heritage of Bengal and are hell-bent on making the state “pauperised”.
“Bengal is identified with Kalibari, not with Kaaba”
Raising the issue of cultural identity at the Jorasanko rally, CM Yogi said, “Bengal’s identity is with Maa Kalibari, not with any other foreign site (Kaaba).” Accusing Mamata Banerjee of appeasement politics, he said that Didi is irritated by the slogan of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, but she looks very happy in the Iftar party. Yogi roared, “We have established ‘Ram Rajya’ in UP, where there are neither riots nor namaz is offered on the streets.”
UP Model vs Bengal’s ‘Anarchy’ Model
Yogi Adityanath compared the current situation of Bengal with that of Uttar Pradesh before 2017. He said:
Law and order: “Today there is the same anarchy in Bengal that used to be there in UP. Now the mafia in UP is either in jail or has set out on the journey of Ram Naam Satya.”
Referring to bulldozer: He said that bulldozer is not only used for building roads but is also effective in breaking the backs of mafias. There is a need for ‘bulldozer policy’ to establish rule of law in Bengal also.
“Will not allow Hindus to be divided”
During his speech, CM Yogi laid special emphasis on the unity of Hindus. He said, “We will neither allow mother cows to be slaughtered nor will we allow Hindus to be divided.” He alleged that the TMC government tried to ban or disrupt festivals like Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja, which the people of Bengal will no longer tolerate.
Mamata Banerjee’s counterattack: “Politics of hatred will not work here”
Responding to Yogi Adityanath’s attacks, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in her election rallies that leaders from Uttar Pradesh are spreading hatred in Bengal. He sarcastically said, “Bulldozers may run in UP, in Bengal only man’s faith works. Outsiders cannot understand the culture of Bengal.”
Huge demand for ‘Yogi’ in Bengal
BJP has fielded Yogi Adityanath as its ‘star campaigner’ in the last stages of the elections. According to party sources, there is a huge demand for Yogi’s rallies in Bengal. Apart from Jorasanko, on April 22, he also held public meetings in many other areas, where he gave the message that after the election results are declared on May 4, the countdown of TMC goons will start in Bengal.
