News India Live, Digital Desk: Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren has launched a revolutionary initiative to economically empower the farmers and rural youth of the state. In a conference organized in Ranchi on Friday (24 April 2026), the Chief Minister Group Solar Farming Called for promotion. The objective of this scheme is to utilize the barren and less fertile land of the state for power generation, thereby providing farmers a sustainable source of income along with farming.

Now the confluence of ‘solar energy’ with traditional farming

The Chief Minister said that farmers should not be limited to only traditional crops. He stressed that in rural areas, where lands are lying barren or where farming is not possible throughout the year due to lack of irrigation, ‘collective solar plants’ should be installed through Gram Sabha.

Earning Guarantee: The Chief Minister gave a big assurance and said that the entire electricity produced from these solar plants will be Government will buy it itself. With this, villagers will not have to worry about any middleman or market to sell their produce.

Self-reliant village: This initiative will not only solve the problem of electricity in the villages, but will also make each gram panchayat financially self-reliant.

Lift Irrigation and Panchayat Incentive Award

During the conference, CM Soren also discussed the expansion of irrigation facilities:

Extension of Irrigation: He told that Lift Irrigation Schemes like these have brought huge benefits to farmers in Santal Pargana, and are now being implemented in other parts of the state as well.

Head Conference: In the ‘Chief Minister Panchayat Incentive Award’ ceremony, he described the role of public representatives (chiefs) as important. He said that Gram Panchayats are the foundation of all-round development of the state.
