Zee Studios, Hindi film ‘Phule’, produced by Dancing Siva Films and produced by Kingsman Productions, is releasing across the country on April 25, 2025. Starring Prateek Gandhi and Patralekha, the film was earlier scheduled to release on April 11. But the producers postponed the release date of the film for two weeks. The trailer of the film was released on social media a few days ago. The Brahmin community objected to a scene of that trailer. Now actor Prateek Gandhi has reacted to this.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave the film a ‘U’ certificate on 7 April and also asked for some changes. According to the information received, CBFC has instructed the film to remove words like ‘Mahar’, ‘Demand’, ‘Peshwai’, ‘Manusmriti caste system’ from the film and completely remove the voiceover that describes the caste system in detail. Director Anant Mahadevan said that all necessary changes have been made.
The film focuses on the works of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule for women’s education, caste eradication and social change. An attempt was made to put the inspiring story of this revolutionary couple who struggled for social equality on the silver screen. This story will open the doors of new ideas by making today’s generation aware of history. The trailer was released on 10 April. The Brahmin community objected to a scene of that trailer. Some prominent people of the Brahmin Mahasangh said that they have been misrepresented in the film. Some points were also objected to in that trailer. Hence the release of the film has been postponed till 25 April.
Actor Prateek Gandhi responded after a ruckus on the trailer of the film ‘Phule’, saying, “I was shooting at a location, then I came to know that the release date of the film has been postponed. I was very sad at that time. Because 11 April was a very special date from the film. Because, the 197th birth anniversary of Mahatma Phule was the 197th birth anniversary. If the film was released on that day, if the film was released on that day, then the manufacturer has become a part of the manufacturer. However, the original message of the film has been asked to make some changes.
The film ‘Phule’ is now scheduled to release on 25 April. The film is directed by Anant Mahadevan. In the film, actress Patralekha played the role of Savitribai Phule. We have followed all the instructions given by CBFC. Apart from this, there is nothing in the film to insult a community. Director Anant Mahadevan himself has informed that we have tried to avoid controversy by postponing the release of the film. The film stars actor Prateek Gandhi as Jyotirao Phule, while Patralekha plays the role of Savitribai Phule. The film will be released in theaters on 25 April.
