Know which are those 8 new expressways which will change the face of UP
- Chitrakoot Link Expressway (a gift for pilgrims)
This 20 kilometer long expressway will directly connect Chitrakoot Dham with Banda and Varanasi. It is targeted to be completed by the end of 2026, after which it will become very easy for devotees and travelers to reach Chitrakoot. - Jalaun Link Expressway (New Lifeline of Bundelkhand)
This 115 kilometer long expressway will directly connect Jalaun to Bundelkhand Expressway. It will be made 4-lane currently, but there are plans to expand it to 6-lane in future. This will prove to be a milestone in the development of Bundelkhand region. - Vindhya Expressway (longest proposed expressway of UP)
This will be the most ambitious project of UP till date. This 320 km long expressway will start from Prayagraj and reach Sonbhadra via Mirzapur, Varanasi and Chandauli. This huge project worth about Rs 23,000 crore is expected to be completed in the next 2-3 years. - Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway (link of two big expressways)
This 100 kilometer long expressway will connect two big expressways—Vindhya and Purvanchal. It will connect Vindhya Expressway near Chandauli to Purvanchal Expressway near Ghazipur, creating a large route network. - Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway (New Corridor of Faith)
This expressway is being built to promote religious tourism. With its construction, the journey from Meerut to Haridwar will become very easy, which will provide great relief to Kanwariyas and devotees. - Chitrakoot-Rewa Link Expressway (UP-MP Bhai-Bhai)
This expressway will directly connect Uttar Pradesh with the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh. With its construction, there will be a huge increase in trade and traffic between the two states. - Jewar Link Expressway (superfast way to reach airport)
This expressway will connect the international airport being built in Jewar with major routes like Yamuna Expressway and Ganga Expressway. This will make reaching the airport jam-free and extremely fast. - Agra-Lucknow-Ganga Link Expressway (further strengthening connectivity)
To further strengthen the existing expressway network, work is also being done on link routes connecting Agra, Lucknow and Ganga Expressway, for which a large budget has also been approved.
