Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday attacked the BJP government at the center and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said that Narendra Modi can go to any extent to remain in power. Addressing the Nyay Sankalp rally in Punjab, Priyanka Gandhi said that Narendra Modi has no respect for farmers. He can do anything for power. 700 farmers lost their lives in the agitation against the agricultural law. Modi withdrew these laws shortly before the elections in Uttar Pradesh, which showed that Modi can do anything not for farmers, but for power. Modi is lying to get power.
Addressing a rally organised for Congress candidate Dr. Amar Singh in Fatehgarh, Priyanka further said that it has been the tradition of the country to maintain the respect of farmers. However, the current central government has made only empty promises in the last 10 years and has done nothing. If Congress comes to power at the centre, a law will be made for support price, crop loss will be compensated within a month. GST will be waived on the purchase of agricultural equipment.
On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge hit back at Modi's statement on Mujra. While addressing a rally in Sasaram, Bihar, Kharge said that Modi thinks he is a 'tir maar kha'. He is wrong. The real people are 'tir maar kha'. Modi is like a dictator. If he comes to power for the third time, people will not be allowed to speak freely. People cannot exercise their right to speak. While addressing a rally in Himachal Pradesh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that Modi could not give Rs 9 thousand crore to deal with the flood like situation in Himachal, but in the last 10 years he waived off Rs 16 lakh crore of 22 rich people. When Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav addressed a rally in Salempur, Uttar Pradesh, he said that since BJP is losing the Lok Sabha elections, Modi has lost his confidence and that is why he is seen hesitating in his speech.
