Prayagraj, 07 May (HS). Professor GS Tomar, former dean of the Faculty of Ayurveda and Unani Medicine, said that 'World Asthma Day' is celebrated every year on the first Tuesday of May. In Ayurveda, this disease is mentioned thousands of years ago in Charak Samhita, in which measures to avoid this disease are also mentioned. Prof. Tomar told that in Ayurveda it is called Tamak breathing. Allergy is the most important among its main causes.
In collaboration with the World Ayurveda Mission, a one-day national seminar on prevention and control of asthma was organized under the theme of World Asthma Day 2024, 'Asthma Education Strong', in the Hakim Ahmed Hussain Usmani Auditorium of Government Unani Medical College and Hospital, Himmatganj, Prayagraj.

According to this principle we can develop adaptability in the body. While sharing his medical experience on Respikalp and Aasthakalp, he described them as very beneficial in the treatment of asthma. Fast food also increases the risk of asthma attack.
Special guest Dr Shanti Chaudhary, Senior Researcher, Motilal Nehru Medical College said that the aim of such programs is to create awareness among the public about this disease. So that people can adopt preventive measures. Especially regarding children, it was emphasized that parents should inform school teachers about children affected by asthma so that appropriate steps can be taken if needed. He gave instructions to plant trees and keep the surrounding environment clean to maintain a healthy environment.
Pulmonologist Professor Tariq Mahmood of Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj said that asthma is a chronic disease and can be avoided. There are more than three crore patients worldwide. Factors like increasing population, industrialization, air pollution, family and genetic factors, unhealthy diet and smoking are increasing this disease. He said that there is a need to promote the Greek experience globally by doing large-scale research, so that people can benefit from it. For this, pharmaceutical companies and research units can work together.
Professor of Homeopathy System. Giving detailed information about this disease, SM Singh, former director of Sainath PG Institute of Homeopathy, said that treatment according to the person and symptoms is the specialty of homeopathy.
Famous Unani physician and former Chairman of the Department of Aesthetics, Professor Barkatullah Nadvi said that the treatment of this disease is very clear in the Unani system of medicine, but its treatment should be done according to the principles described in the medicine. Usually doctors ignore the principles of treatment, due to which the disease becomes more serious.
