According to the latest bulletin issued by the Ranchi-based center of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), due to the weather system formed in the Bay of Bengal and the active monsoon trough, most of the districts of Jharkhand may see heavy rains during the next few hours. The 12 major districts where the Meteorological Department has issued a warning to be most cautious include the capital Ranchi, Dumka, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Giridih, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh along with some southern and north-western districts. There is a possibility of continuous dark, dense clouds in these areas and intermittent torrential rains, due to which problems like waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic jams on the roads may have to be faced. Meteorologists say that this activity of monsoon will continue over the state for a few days, due to which the temperature will also drop and people will get relief from the humid heat.
Along with this torrential rain, the Meteorological Department has given the biggest warning regarding strong winds and lightning i.e. lightning, due to which there is a possibility of loss in both rural and urban areas. During heavy rains, the wind speed can suddenly increase to 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, posing a danger of uprooting the roofs of mud houses, weak hoardings and trees.
