Lucknow. In Uttar Pradesh, the June-like heat in the last week of April has made life difficult for people. The gusts of hot winds from east to west have created silence on the streets in the afternoon. In most of the districts the mercury remains between 42 to 47 degrees Celsius and the sun like fire raining from the sky has completely affected life.
Banda broke all records of April, was the hottest in the country
On Monday, a temperature of 47.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Banda, which was the highest not only in the state but in the entire country. This is a new record for the month of April which is 0.2 degrees more than its previous highest temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius. Earlier, 47.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Banda on Saturday and 46.6 degree Celsius on Sunday. Apart from Banda, scorching heat continues with 44.4 degree Celsius in Agra, 44.2 degree Celsius in Prayagraj and 44.2 degree Celsius in Orai.
Lucknow also crosses 40 degrees, no relief even at night
According to senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, on Monday, the maximum temperature in the capital Lucknow dropped by about three degrees to 40.3 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius. Due to the effect of easterly wind and cyclonic circulation, the temperature dropped by up to four degrees in other places except the south-western region of the state, but the relief is still insufficient.
Weather will change from Tuesday, start from Jhansi
The good news is that the weather will change in the state from Tuesday. Due to the activation of a new western disturbance, the maximum temperature may drop by four to five degrees Celsius with movement of clouds and drizzle in most of the districts of western and eastern UP in the next three days. The weather change will start from Jhansi and by Wednesday its effect will spread across the state. Light drizzle has been predicted in more than 50 districts since late Monday night and winds will also blow at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour, due to which the effect of the heat wave will gradually weaken.
