Big expansion of Noida Metro! Work will start next month – Aqua Line will be connected to RRTS, direct connectivity will be available till Noida Airport.

Noida. Noida Metro Rail Corporation i.e. NMRC has started preparations to give new momentum to Aqua Metro. The construction work of two big projects is likely to start next month and the third project is also expected to get the green signal soon. After the completion of these three expansion plans, the daily ridership of Aqua Metro has been targeted to cross two lakhs.

Two projects have been approved, tender process completed

Two routes have received permission from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development i.e. Mahua. The first route is 11.56 km link line extension from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden which will cost Rs 2254.35 crore and 8 new stations will be built in it. The second route is a 2.6 km extension from Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki Railway Station at a cost of Rs 416 crore and two new stations named Junapat and Bodaki will be built on it. The Managing Director of NMRC has given permission to complete the tender process of both the projects.

Third route up to Greno West, approval may be given in a month

The third project is of 7.5 km long aqua extension from Sector-51 to Sector-4 Char Murti Roundabout in Greno West, the proposal of which is currently under consideration in Mahua. Officials say that this can also be approved within a month. 5 new stations will be built on this route at a cost of Rs 1100 crore and this will benefit 1.25 lakh daily passengers.

Aqua Metro will be connected to RRTS, travel will be easy till Noida Airport

The biggest feature of this expansion is that the Greno West route will be connected to RRTS i.e. Rapid Rail. Earlier this project was proposed up to Knowledge Park-5, but after the arrival of RRTS route, it was decided to extend it up to Sector-4 Greno West. With the construction of this link, passengers of Noida and Delhi will get direct and better connectivity to Noida International Airport.

Topography and soil testing continues, deployment of three directors completed

To ensure quality and timely work on all three projects, the formalities for appointment of three directors as sought by the Ministry have been completed. Besides, the work of topography and soil testing on all three routes is under process.
