News India Live, Digital Desk: A news that puts humanity to shame has come to light from Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, where a case of a dead body of a young man kept in the mortuary of the district hospital is missing an eye. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the family members of the deceased created a ruckus in the hospital and demanded strict action against those responsible for this serious negligence.
This incident took place in Raipur Shivgarh village of Colonelganj tehsil area. Krishna Kumar Singh, brother of the deceased, told that his 39-year-old brother Kaushalendra Singh alias Pinku Singh was injured after falling from the roof while working as a laborer in Baluganj, Colonelganj. He was admitted to the district hospital for treatment, where he died during treatment. After this the hospital administration got the body kept in the mortuary.
Next morning when the family members arrived to collect the body, they were shocked. They noticed that the body was missing one eye and had been tampered with. Seeing this, the family got angry and started creating ruckus in the hospital premises. The family members directly allege that someone in the mortuary had taken out the eye of the dead body.
This incident has raised serious questions on the functioning of the hospital administration. The family members have given a complaint letter to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) demanding a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against the culprits.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first such incident in the mortuary of the district hospital. Even before this, cases like eyes missing from the dead body had come to light, after which the hospital administration had assured investigation, but no concrete action was taken. Such incidents happening again and again raise a deep question mark on the security arrangements of the hospital and the sensitivity of the employees.
