Telugu film industry superstar Allu Arjun had to spend Friday night in jail despite getting bail from the High Court. He could not be released due to delay in bail formalities. The actor’s release will be possible this morning. His father-in-law Kancharla Chandrashekhar Reddy and father Allu Aravind have reached Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad.
Lawyer’s allegation: Police will have to answer
Allu Arjun’s lawyer Ashok Reddy said that he had received a copy of the bail order from the High Court, yet the police did not release the actor. Terming it as illegal detention, he said that the police will have to answer for it. The lawyer said that he will take legal action in this matter.
Meanwhile, Task Force ADCP Srinivas Rao said that Allu Arjun will be released in the morning. However, he did not give any information about the reasons for the delay in release.
Arrest was made in stampede case
The case of Allu Arjun’s arrest is related to the stampede during the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. A woman was killed and her child was injured in this incident. After this, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun and arrested him from his Jubilee Hills house on Friday.

Allu Arjun was taken to Chikkadapally police station and then produced in the Nampally Magistrate Court, from where he was sent to 14-day judicial custody. After this his medical checkup was done at Gandhi Hospital.
Gathering of fans outside the jail
A large number of fans of Allu Arjun are present outside Chanchalguda Central Jail to wait for his release. His lawyers had prepared two personal bonds of Rs 50,000 each as per the order of the High Court. Both excitement and uneasiness are being seen among the fans regarding the release of Allu Arjun.
Statement of the husband of the deceased woman: “No fault of Allu Arjun”
Bhaskar, husband of the woman who lost her life in the stampede, said that he has no complaint against Allu Arjun and he is ready to withdraw the case. He said that Allu Arjun has no fault in this accident. His injured son is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
Allu Arjun has already announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased. His uncle and megastar Chiranjeevi, actor Varun Dhawan, and filmmaker Ashok Pandit have also come out in support of the actor.
Politics heated up over arrest
Allu Arjun’s arrest has also created political controversy.
- Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav called this arrest a publicity stunt by Congress and said that the Telangana government is doing this to avoid responsibility for the woman’s death.
- BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar and BRS leader KT Rama Rao criticized the Congress government and said that not providing security at high-profile events is a failure of the government.
- YCRCP leader Lakshmi Parvati has blamed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for this arrest.
