Lucknow, 04 November (HS). Regarding Chhath festival, Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar on Monday instructed all the police officers of the state to make tight security arrangements.
DGP said that apart from women, a large number of people gather at places of worship, rivers, ghats, ponds and reservoirs on Chhath festival. For their security, a large number of police forces should be deployed. In view of the safety of women and girls in public and crowded places, duty of male and female personnel in plain uniform should be imposed.
Keep the anti Romeo team active also. Firecrackers are also burst during the festival, keeping this in mind, fire fighting arrangements should also be made. The number of people coming and going on Chhath festival is also very large. Regarding this, adequate police arrangements should be made for security at the railway station and bus stand. Police should patrol public and crowded places. Also keep an eye on the activities of undesirable and anti-social elements. All social media platforms should also be monitored.
