News India Live, Digital Desk: Yogi Government’s Historic Decision: There has been a very good news for the Bangladeshi displaced families settled in Uttar Pradesh, which has been waiting for its ownership for decades. The state government has issued instructions to these families to duly give ownership to their land. This is a decision that will liberate these families from the uncertainty of decades and will give them the real identity of their ‘home’. These are the families that came to India in 1947 during the country’s partition and the 1971 Bangladesh construction from the then East Pakistan and came to India. Many of these families were settled in different parts of Uttar Pradesh under the rehabilitation schemes of the Government of India. They were allotted land to live, but they could not become their real owners on paper. They neither had any valid ownership of any kind nor any kind of ‘lease’, which often could not get full rights on their land. This land was earlier recorded in the name of the district officials, which were later transferred to the UP Rehabilitation Department and settled to these families. Because of this, he could not become the permanent owner of the land, and was also deprived of many fundamental rights and facilities. In the first phase, 63 Bengali families settled in Maharajpur village of Ghaziabad district will get ownership rights on about 1.8335 hectares (about 4.5 acres) land. This step will provide social and economic security to these families. Now he will be the real owner of his assets and will be able to take advantage of all the government schemes related to it, as well as he will also get full control over his property. This historic decision was taken during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Janata Darshan’ program, where these displaced families met him and kept their decades -old problems. The Chief Minister listened to his agony and instructed the officials to resolve the issue. This policy is not limited to Ghaziabad only. The state government is now going to mark all such Bengali displaced families located in other districts of Uttar Pradesh. Details of these families will be collected and they will also be considered in a phased manner to provide ownership of their land. This is a big and inclusive step, which will give these families an opportunity to live a respectable life. This initiative will not only give them protection, but will also help them to connect them to the mainstream of society, so that they will be able to live their lives with full freedom and dignity.
