Bareilly, December 15: Putting the green and eco-friendly vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the ground, Bareilly is going to get a big gift of Nagar Van. This Arboretum to be developed in CBganj has been included in the agenda of UP Eco-Tourism. The design and layout of the city forest was discussed in detail in a meeting chaired by Forest Minister Dr. Arun Kumar in Lucknow on Monday. The consultant agency presented the blueprint of the city forest through a power point presentation, which was approved by the Forest Minister.
Eco-friendly cafeteria, modern park for children, kids play area and relaxing tourist places for families will be prepared in Nagar Van, which will be developed at a cost of about Rs 10 crore. Tree-houses made of wood in the middle of the forest will be the center of attraction for tourists. Apart from this, pathways for walking, gardens of herbal and medicinal plants will be made. Information about ancient and rare trees will be mentioned in the city forest, so that tourists can understand their usefulness and historical importance. Attractive selfie points will be a special attraction for youth and tourists.
Miyawaki forest has already been developed in the Sibganj forest area. Now the Nagar Van Project will give a new direction to tourism along with the conservation of rare species. Nath Corridor is already under construction and the addition of Nagar Van will create a confluence of faith, nature and tourism in Bareilly. DFO Deeksha Bhandari said that the Nagar Van project was included in the meeting with UP Eco-Tourism and got approval.
The Arboretum of CBganj is spread over about 30 hectares, in which trees of sandalwood, rudraksha, kewda, shawl and rare species of Sri Lanka are present. The biggest feature of this project will be that there will be no concrete construction in the forest area and not a single tree will be cut. Centers for research and training on flora will also be developed under the direction of the Chief Conservator of Forests. Instructions have been given to prepare DPR with the participation of Forest Department, Tourism Department, BDA and Municipal Corporation.
