This year too, carrying forward the tradition of Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav), Akhilesh Yadav played Holi of flowers with workers and supporters. The presence of all the elder members of the family on the stage filled the supporters with tremendous enthusiasm.
1. Entire Yadav family on one platform (Family Unity)
The stalwarts of the family were seen sitting together on the stage giving the message of unity:
Main Appearance: Dimple Yadav with Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav, Pro. Ram Gopal Yadavand the new generation of the family including Dharmendra Yadav were also present.
Greetings: Akhilesh Yadav touched the feet of both his uncles (Shivpal and Ram Gopal) and took blessings, which is being seen as the strength of the family in the political circles.
2. Holi of flowers and folk singing (Celebration Highlights)
Shower of Flowers: Akhilesh and Dimple showered quintals of flowers on the thousands of workers present at the Saifai pandal. The workers also welcomed their leader with slogans of ‘Jai Samajwad’.
Fag and folklore: Local artistes sang traditional ‘Phaag’ (Holi folk songs). The whole atmosphere seemed drenched in the color of Saifai due to the beat of drums.
3. Akhilesh Yadav’s address (Political Message)
Amidst Holi celebrations, Akhilesh Yadav also gave a political message:
Message of brotherhood: He said that this festival of Holi is about eradicating hatred and increasing brotherhood.
Politics of UP: He called upon the workers to be prepared for the coming elections and strengthen the unity of ‘PDA’ (Backward, Dalit, Minority).
4. Dimple Yadav’s participation
MP Dimple Yadav also greeted the workers from the stage with folded hands. He said that Saifai’s Holi is not just a festival but a culture, which was started by Netaji and today the entire family cherishes it.
5. Strict security arrangements
In view of the huge crowd gathered in Saifai, the district administration and police had made strict security arrangements. Due to VIP movement, traffic was also diverted on Etawah-Mainpuri route.
