This is money that helps a lot in difficult times, like job loss, illness, marriage or building a house. Earlier, to withdraw PF money, one had to visit offices and do lengthy paperwork. But now, technology has made this work very easy.

Now you can claim PF withdrawal in just a few minutes from your smartphone sitting at home. All this has been possible with the help of ‘UMANG’ (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance), a super app of the government.

What is UMANG App?

Umang App is a platform of the Government of India, which provides hundreds of services of Central and State Governments at one place. Through this app, you can also avail the services of EPFO ​​(Employees Provident Fund Organization), in which PF claiming is the most important.

Easy process to claim PF from UMANG app

If you also need money and want to withdraw some or all of the amount from your PF account, then follow these easy steps:

Keep these things ready before claiming:

  1. Your UAN (Universal Account Number) must be activated.
  2. Your mobile number should be registered with UAN.
  3. Your Aadhar card should be linked to UAN.
  4. Your bank details (account number and IFSC code) and PAN card should be updated with UAN.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. App Download and Log-in: First of all, download the UMANG app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store of your phone. Open the app, register with your mobile number and log in.
  2. Select EPFO ​​Service: Go to ‘All Services’ on the homepage of the app and search by typing “EPFO” in the search bar. Click on EPFO ​​option.
  3. Go to ‘Raise Claim’: In the EPFO ​​section you will see the option of ‘Raise Claim’, click on it.
  4. UAN and OTP Verification: Now enter your UAN number and click on ‘Get OTP’. An OTP will come on your registered mobile number, enter it and log in.
  5. Select Claim Type: Now you have to choose what type of claim you want to make.
    • Advance (Form 31): If you want to withdraw money for any special need (like illness, marriage, building a house) while in job.
    • Final Settlement (Form 19): If you have left the job and have been unemployed for 2 months.
    • Pension (Form 10C): If you want to withdraw pension money.
  6. Verify Bank Account: Verify your bank account information.
  7. Fill the claim form: Now fill the claim form (like Form 31) as per your requirement. You have to fill the reason for withdrawing money and the amount to be withdrawn.
  8. Upload Document: You have to upload a scanned copy of your bank passbook or canceled cheque.
  9. Submit with Aadhaar OTP: After filling all the information, click on ‘Get Aadhaar OTP’. An OTP will come on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. As soon as you enter this OTP, your claim will be successfully submitted.

Once the claim is submitted, you can also track the status of your claim through this app. Usually, the online claim money is credited to your bank account within 10 to 15 days.
