How were the company’s total earnings and income in the June quarter?

According to the data released by Mahindra & Mahindra, the company’s net profit has increased to ₹ 3,685 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year, whereas it was ₹ 3,450 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. Apart from this, the total revenue from operations of the company has registered an impressive growth of 23% on an annual basis, with which this figure has increased to ₹ 41,920 crore. After the strong quarterly results, the confidence of investors has increased further, due to which the shares of the company also witnessed a good rise during the trading and the stock climbed and crossed the level of ₹ 3,262.

SUV and tractor segments filled the company’s coffers

The biggest contribution behind Mahindra’s bumper earnings has been the bumper sales of its popular SUVs and tractors. Although the company had increased the prices of its commercial vehicles and SUVs in the month of April, it did not have any negative impact on customer demand. Powerful vehicles like Scorpio, Thar and XUV are continuously making waves in the market. The company’s income from auto sector has increased by 24.38% to ₹31,033 crore. Total automobile sales grew 23% to 3.04 lakh units, including only utility vehicle (SUV) sales at 1.75 lakh units (15% YoY growth). Apart from this, Mahindra’s new electric SUV XEV 9S has emerged as the country’s best-selling electric SUV in this quarter.

Record growth in farm equipment and tractor business also

Not only cars, but Mahindra’s agricultural equipment and tractor business has also proved to be the biggest strength for the company. Farm equipment business revenue jumped 19% to ₹10,947 crore driven by strong demand from the agricultural sector in rural areas and favorable market conditions. During this period, the company’s tractor sales increased by 18% to 1.58 lakh units, due to which Mahindra’s total share in the tractor market has increased to 44.9%, which clearly shows the company’s dominance in this sector.

Announcement of increasing production capacity and new plant in Nagpur

To fully capitalize on the growing future demand, Mahindra plans to expand its manufacturing capacity on a large scale. The company is going to rapidly increase the production of both petrol-diesel (ICE) and electric SUVs. The production capacity of ICE SUVs will be increased from 60,000 to 70,000 units per month by the end of FY 2027, while the capacity of electric vehicles will be increased from 8,000 to 12,000 units per month. Along with this, the company has also officially announced the setting up of a new greenfield plant in Nagpur, which will almost double the production capacity of the company in the coming time.
