Wife sought permission for abortion in High Court due to rift with husband

Mumbai, – After a dispute with her husband, the wife has filed an application in the Bombay High Court seeking permission to keep a 20 -week pregnancy. However, the High Court has asked the couple to try to resolve the dispute in a cordial manner before giving any final verdict.

The court said in the order that there is no major dispute between the couple and it can be resolved by mutual agreement. The court has directed the couple to meet the Pune Magistrate in the court premises this week to try to resolve the issues.

The judges said that the lawyers of both sides should try to reach the agreement so that a cordial atmosphere can be created and if the child is born, it can also be served the services of a trained intermediary to establish confidence between the couple If you are the interest of the child

The woman applied for conception, saying that she had stressful relations with her husband. The petition said that the husband taunted the wife that he never wants to marry her as he loves another woman. The woman also alleged that the husband claims that the child is not her and she would never accept it.

The couple got married in May 2023 and the woman lodged a complaint of domestic violence in the Pune Magistrate Court. The husband filed an affidavit in the High Court and denied the allegations. He said that there was a dispute between him but he never refused to accept the child or did not doubt the wife’s character. He also said that he is ready to take care of the child and wife.

The husband claimed that the husband and his parents tried to resolve the dispute several times but the wife was not responding.

The judges, while talking to the two on Monday, found that the two are quite mature to understand each other and solve the problem.

The court said in the order, the wife said that if the husband is ready to take care of the child and behave well, then there is no reason for her to have an abortion.

The judges said that there was no major problem other than allegations and misunderstandings between the couple that the wife had been living with a colleague for a long time or the husband was taking the side of her parents. The court fixed the next hearing on 6 February.
