So why does a child need a PAN card?
Now the question arises that why does a child who does not earn need a PAN card? There are many big and important reasons for this:
- Investment in child’s name: If you want to make a big investment in your child’s name for his/her future, like a fixed deposit (FD) of a huge amount in mutual fund, share market or bank, then it is mandatory for the child to have PAN card.
- Bank Account: Many banks also require PAN card to open special bank accounts for minors, especially if the transaction limit exceeds a certain amount.

Who will apply on behalf of the child?
