Monsoon Alert: Monsoon will gain momentum in large parts of the country from today; Alert of heavy rain and storm in these states including UP, Bihar


Once again a big change is being seen in the weather across the country. While people in some areas are still waiting for the scorching humidity and rain, the monsoon is going to be completely kind to a large part of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon will become fully active over most parts of India from today, June 30. Due to its effect, North-Eastern states, Central India and coastal areas will see torrential rains for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for many states and advised people to be cautious.

Heavy rain forecast in these states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

According to the latest bulletin of the Meteorological Department, monsoon activities will increase in the north-west, central, east and north-eastern parts of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Along with this, conditions remain completely favorable for the advance of monsoon in the areas of Gujarat and Vidarbha, due to which heavy rains may start in these areas in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Monsoon will be seen in fierce form on north-eastern and western coasts

The maximum impact of this monsoon system is being seen in North-East India and the western coastal areas of the country. IMD has issued a warning of extremely heavy rainfall at some places in Assam and Meghalaya. Apart from this, continuous widespread rainfall is expected to continue in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim till the first week of July. On the other hand, due to strong south-westerly winds coming from the sea, the pace of rain will be quite high in the coastal areas of Konkan coast, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala.

Winds will blow at a speed of 50 km per hour, lightning alert

Meteorological Department warning: Along with heavy rains, there is also a possibility of severe thunderstorms accompanied by thunderstorms in the eastern, central and peninsular parts of the country.

During this period, there may be sudden heavy showers along with thunderstorms in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Meteorologists say that with the advancement of these monsoon storms, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and incidents of lightning can also occur. In such a situation, people have been advised not to take shelter in open fields or under trees during bad weather.
