In this syrup made by a company named ‘Srison Pharmaceuticals’ of Tamil Nadu Diathylene Glycol (DEG) A poisonous industrial chemical of the name was found to be surprised to know that this chemical is used in things like Antifreeze and Break Fluid, according to the type, the quantity of this poisonous substance in the syrup 48.6% It was found, while its acceptable limit is less than 0.1%.
Government’s tough action
In view of the seriousness of the case, the Madhya Pradesh government has taken strict steps immediately on the instructions of the Chief Minister. Accused doctor Praveen Soni has been arrested after suspending. Along with this, an FIR has also been lodged against the drug manufacturing company, ‘Coldrif’ Kapha Syrup and all the products of this company have been banned with immediate effect. The government has also announced financial assistance of Rs 4-4 lakh to the victim families.
