Vinay Bhagat is said to be the kingpin of an organized land broker gang active in Katkamasandi and Ichak blocks. The gang had been selling government properties and selling them for a long time.
According to the police, this gang used to work so cleverly that he used to make government lands as its own and made their ‘fake treasure receipt’. Not only government, but also private lands, without telling the owners, were sold through fake documents. After several such incidents in Katakamasandi block, an FIR was lodged against Vinay Bhagat and since then he had been escaping from the police. He used fake documents made in the names of different people for this fraud.
