The weather patterns of Jharkhand have completely changed once again. After the activation of monsoon and encampment of clouds, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted huge devastation in most parts of the state. According to the latest warning from the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, there is every possibility of torrential rain in the next few hours in about 19 districts of the state including the capital Ranchi and Dhanbad. During this time, there is a danger of loud thunder, storm moving at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and deadly lightning. The administration and the weather department have advised the general public to remain alert and take shelter in safe places during bad weather.

According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, heavy accumulation of clouds is being seen in the southern, central and north-eastern parts of Jharkhand. The 19 districts for which special warning has been issued include the capital Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Koderma, Chatra, Palamu and Latehar along with many other areas. Due to continuous or incessant rains in these districts, the problem of waterlogging in low-lying areas and heavy traffic jams on the roads may arise. Farmers in rural areas have also been instructed to take special precautions while working in their fields.
Biggest danger of lightning and storm, strict warning from IMD
In this period of monsoon, incidents of thundering clouds and lightning strikes are proving fatal. The Meteorological Department has given a clear warning that farmers working in the fields, people standing under trees and those traveling in the open during the rains are most at risk of lightning. IMD has appealed to the people that whenever a storm-like situation arises, they should immediately go under a permanent house or a safe shed and avoid open use of mobile phones or electrical appliances.

In view of this severe weather condition, local administration and disaster management teams in many districts of Jharkhand have come on full alert mode. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, this weather condition may remain like this for the next two-three days. A drop in temperature will be recorded, but life may be partially affected due to humidity and storms.
