
Overseas Indian voters showed great enthusiasm in registering as voters but less enthusiasm in voting.

Only 2958 Indians came to India from abroad to vote in this year’s Lok Sabha elections. Out of which 2670 voters were from Kerala. Not a single NRI voter came to vote in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Of the 885 NRI voters in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hometown Gujarat, only two came to India from abroad to vote. Out of 5097 NRI voters in Maharashtra, only 17 voters came to India to vote.
The registration of overseas Indian voters was 19,500 more than in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, his turnout in the current year’s Lok Sabha elections remained low.
