The committee was formed in 2022
The important thing is that the expert committee for the Uniform Civil Code was formed on 27 May 2022. The committee submitted its report to the government on 2 February 2024. After this, the bill passed in the assembly on 8 March 2024. After passing from the assembly, it was sent for the approval of the President. Hence the Act received the consent of the President on 12 March 2024.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that the committee has prepared UCC after many years of hard work. It is a matter of pride for our state. This will have a positive impact on the society.
