News India Live, Digital Desk: Lucknow On Friday, a rape accused was killed in an encounter with the police. He was accused of raping a three -year -old Divyang girl in Alambagh police station area of ​​Lucknow on Thursday.

The accused Deepak Verma was found by the police within 24 hours of carrying out the crime. Deepak Verma was shot in an encounter between the police on Devikheda Road near the Cantt-Alambag border, after which he was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Seeing the serious condition of the girl, she was immediately admitted to Lokbandhu Hospital, from where she was referred to KGMU. The girl is currently undergoing treatment and her condition is said to be critical.

On receiving the information of the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Ashish Kumar Srivastava ordered immediate action. Five special teams were formed to search for the accused, which reached Deepak Verma with the help of CCTV footage and local sources. The police had also declared a reward of one lakh rupees on the accused.

On Thursday night, the crime team of DCP Central and Alambagh police station surrounded Deepak Verma on Devikheda Road. According to the police, when an attempt was made to stop him, he started firing on the police. Police also fired in retaliation, in which Deepak Verma was seriously injured. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.

DCP Central Ashish Srivastava said, “A case was registered against accused Deepak Verma in the respective sections. Our teams were searching for him for 24 hours. During the encounter, the police had to shoot in self -defense, in which the accused was killed.”

In this whole case, the girl’s family members and local people demanded strict action from the police. People were angry about this incident on social media too, the police had appealed to the public to maintain peace and assured that the matter would be investigated in depth.
