Uproar over finding banned animal remains, four policemen including station in-charge suspended

Kanpur, January 13: On receiving information about the remains of banned animals being found in Garhanpur area of ​​Bilhaur police station area in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, dozens of people from Hindu organizations reached the spot and started creating ruckus. Seeing the situation worsening, PAC was also deployed along with the police force of many police stations. Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ashutosh Kumar also reached the spot. He suspended four policemen including the station in-charge for negligence.

The incident happened late on Monday night when some videos went viral on social media in which it was claimed that a huge amount of remains of banned animals were found in a field in Garhanpur area. On receiving the information, workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Bajrang Dal reached the spot and started creating ruckus while raising slogans. On receiving information about the uproar, forces from several police stations also reached the spot but the protesters were not ready to agree. Taking the matter seriously, a company PAC has also been deployed. Also, doctors were called and the remains were examined.

Initial police investigation revealed that Shakir’s farm was adjacent to the cemetery wall. The remains were kept around a tin shed in the same field. Rehman’s warehouse is next to it. In which some remains have also been found. People have also alleged police collusion behind this.

However, Rehman and Shakir fled from the spot after the incident. The police is conducting raids to search for them.

Bilhaur MLA Rahul Bachha Sonkar also reached the spot. He strongly condemned this incident and said that the matter should be investigated and the culprits should be arrested within the next 48 hours and bulldozing action should be taken on their houses. He has also sought cooperation from BJP, Bajrang Dal, VHP and RSS workers.

Joint Police Commissioner Law and Order Ashutosh Kumar said that this entire matter will be investigated impartially. Strictest action will be taken against whoever is guilty. The police themselves will file the case as plaintiff. Apart from this, police negligence of Bilhaur police station has also been seen. Due to which Bilhaur police station incharge Ashok Kumar Saroj, town incharge Premveer Singh, light incharge Aftab Alam and head constable Dilip Gangwar have been suspended.
