UP Politics: BJP and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) Outraged Over Chandauli Incident; Pankaj Chaudhary Says SP’s ‘PDA’ Stands for ‘Pain’ (Peeda) UP Politics: BJP and SubhaSP angry over Chandauli case, Pankaj Chaudhary said SP’s PDA means pain.

In Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, the case of assault on woman district president of Samajwadi Party (SP) Gargi Singh Patel after entering her own house has now gained momentum. There has been an uproar in the politics of Uttar Pradesh regarding this incident. Uttar Pradesh BJP state president Pankaj Choudhary and cabinet minister in Yogi government and SubhaSP president Om Prakash Rajbhar have badly cornered Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party on this issue.

BJP and its allies have taken on SP’s main political slogan PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) and called it a model of oppression of women.

Pankaj Chaudhary’s attack: “SP’s PDA means pain, oppression and insult”

Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary has taken a sharp taunt while raising questions on the ‘movement, character and face’ of the Samajwadi Party:

  • Empty words and reality: Pankaj Choudhary said, “A woman official of the same party, which talks extensively about women’s respect, social justice and rights on its platforms, was assaulted in her own house. This shows that the talks in SP are just hollow. Women’s respect on the stage and this behavior in reality… wow politics!”

  • Models limited to posters: He further said that it seems that there is too much talk in SP. Now a new version of their PDA has come out, whose real meaning is- ‘Suffering, oppression and humiliation.’ SP’s model of respect for women is limited to posters only and the women of the state are well aware of their attitude.

Om Prakash Rajbhar’s taunt: Non-Yadavs are backward and Dalits are not safe in SP

Om Prakash Rajbhar, cabinet minister and SubhaSP chief in the Yogi government, wrote a very aggressive post on the social media platform ‘X’ directly tagging SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Om Prakash Rajbhar wrote on ‘X’: “Hey brother @yadavakhilesh ji, just now your silence was intact on the assault on the backward class SP woman MLA, now in Chandauli, your party’s female district president Gargi Singh Patel was dragged into the house by her hair… she was kicked and punched by your own SP goons… the table was lifted on her head…”

Key points of Rajbhar’s allegations:

  • Allegation of Yadavist politics: Rajbhar alleged that the Samajwadi Party was completely doing “Yadavite politics”. Non-Yadav backward classes (like Kurmi and Prajapati community) and Dalits are continuously being ignored within the party and they are not safe in this party.

  • Comparison with ‘Draupadi Chirharan’ of Mahabharata: Taking aim at the Chandauli incident and the silence of the leadership, Rajbhar compared the SP top leadership to the “silent spectators” of the Mahabharata who sat silently during the dismemberment of Draupadi. He clearly said that the party which cannot protect its own women officials and women, has no moral right to talk about social justice.
