After midnight in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, the weather became so severe that till now 7 people have lost their lives in two major accidents. Due to the severe storm in Hamirpur, an under-construction bridge on the Betwa river was razed to the ground, while in the famous religious place Shakambhari Devi Siddhpeeth of Saharanpur, flash flood after torrential rains on the mountains has caused huge devastation.

The strong storm and cyclone that came late night in Hamirpur district caused huge devastation. The most painful impact of the storm is visible on the Betwa River, where a major infrastructure collapsed.

  • The bridge under construction was destroyed: Part of a big bridge being built on the Betwa river could not withstand the pressure of the strong storm and collapsed.

  • Casualties: In this tragic accident, 6 people died on the spot, while 6 others were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

  • People trapped on pillar: After the bridge collapse, some workers and people are still trapped on the pillar in the middle of the river. Local administration and rescue teams have reached the spot and a rescue operation is being carried out to safely rescue the people trapped on the pillar.

Saharanpur accident: Sudden flood in Shakambhari Devi Siddhpeeth, 1 woman died

On the other hand, the sudden flood late night in the famous Mata Shakambhari Devi temple complex located in Saharanpur district of UP put the devotees and local shopkeepers in trouble.

  • Water level descended after rain on the mountains: After heavy and heavy rains on the Shivalik hills, suddenly a huge amount of water came down. The water level of the river rose so fast that no one had a chance to recover.

  • Water entered the temple premises: The water of this sudden flood spread in the temple premises and surrounding market areas, due to which many vehicles and shops got hit by the strong flow of water.

  • One death in the accident: A female devotee has died due to this sudden natural disaster. As a precautionary measure, the administration has instructed the devotees to go to safe places and not towards the mountains.
