Jaipur, September 1 (HS). Due to the formation of a depression system in the Bay of Bengal adjoining Andhra Pradesh, Southern Odisha, a series of heavy rains will start in the state in the coming days. Due to the effect of this system, a period of heavy rains will start in the state from September 2, which is likely to continue for a week. On Monday, there is a possibility of heavy rains at some places in Kota, Udaipur divisions and moderate rains with thunder in some parts of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer divisions. Rain activities will increase in many parts of eastern Rajasthan and there is a strong possibility of heavy rain activities continuing for the next one week. There is a possibility of light moderate rains in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan and heavy rains at some places on September 2-3. On Sunday, light to moderate rains were recorded in more than half a dozen cities including Jaipur. The highest rainfall of 63 mm was recorded in Srimadhopur of Neemka police station.
According to the Water Resources Department, on Sunday, Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jalore, Mount Abu, Karauli, Jhunjhunu and Jhalawar received rain. Apart from Srimadhopur, 27 mm rain was recorded in Nasirabad of Ajmer and 25 mm rain was recorded in Chhabra of Baran. On Saturday, rain was recorded with thunder at some places in eastern Rajasthan and some places in western Rajasthan and heavy rain was recorded at some places in Jodhpur, Pali and Sirohi. In eastern Rajasthan, the highest rainfall of 71 mm was recorded in Shivganj (Sirohi) and 78 mm rain was recorded in Sumerpur, Pali of western Rajasthan. On Sunday, the highest maximum temperature in the state was 37.4 degrees in Sangaria Hanumangarh and the highest minimum temperature was 28.8 degrees in Phalodi.

The maximum temperature of Jaipur was recorded at 37.4 degrees and the minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees.
