TMC’s stake outside Shah’s office, when there was a heated argument between police and MPs in political dispute.

News India Live, Digital Desk: Nowadays, a pattern has emerged in Indian politics that when talks do not yield a solution, then protests are the last weapon left. A similar scene was seen in Delhi. Eight Trinamool Congress MPs, including prominent faces, sat outside the office of Home Minister Amit Shah with their demands.

Where did things go wrong?
TMC’s allegation is old but the issue is serious. MPs say that West Bengal is being given ‘step-motherly’ treatment. From MGNREGA funds to the ‘housing scheme’ money for the poor, TMC claims that the central government is holding on to crores of rupees. The MPs said that until the Home Minister himself talks on this issue or does not get a satisfactory answer, they will not move from there.

Police, protocol and conflict
The Home Ministry area is a high-security zone. Such dharna by the MPs there became a headache for the police and security agencies. There was a lot of commotion on the spot. The sounds of sloganeering reached straight to the corridors of the ministry. TMC’s straight stand was that they have come here to fight for the rights of Bengal and they just wanted an appointment, but they did not get it.

Politics or real compulsion?
This entire drama can be seen from two perspectives. BJP is calling it a ‘political stunt’, saying that the Bengal government did not give correct account of the funds. On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee and her party argue that the work of the general public is at a standstill.

What is its effect on the general public?
Looking at this politics, the common man often wonders why ‘common people’s fund’ becomes a means of fighting between parties? Whether these MPs sitting on the streets of Delhi are gathering strength for their party or for the workers of Bengal, it will be known only by the release (or not) of funds in the future.

For now, this protest might have ended, but this fire of Bengal vs Center does not seem to be extinguished. This picture is a witness to the fact that this fight of ‘money and rights’ is going to be the biggest issue in the coming elections also.
