Tinsukia-Makum road jammed by keeping dead bodies, hundreds of people protest

Tinsukia (Assam), January 03: Heavy tension was seen on the Tinsukia-Makum road on Friday night over a murder incident that took place on the first day of the New Year. Hundreds of men and women placed the dead body on the road and sat in protest, blocking the road.

According to the local people, a man named Ratneshwar Bora was murdered by Bichu Malah on the first day of the new year. Angry people blocked the road as the accused was not arrested even after the incident.

The protesters raised slogans against the administration demanding immediate arrest of the accused Bichu Malah. Due to the road jam, traffic on Tinsukia-Makum road came to a complete standstill for several hours.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and tried to pacify the protesters. The investigation into the matter is ongoing and the situation is being monitored.
