The government has provided this facility under the ‘UP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme’, and the process of providing it has also been started. This is not the first time, the government gives this gift on both the festivals of Holi and Diwali.

The most important work for this benefit: e-KYC
To take advantage of this scheme, there is a very important task – getting your e-KYC completed. Women whose e-KYC is not complete may face difficulty in getting the subsidy money in their account. You can get e-KYC done in two ways:
- Offline: If you have difficulty in understanding the online process, you can also go directly to your nearest gas agency and get this work done.
What should those who are not included in the scheme do?
If any woman has not yet joined the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, then she can apply for it. Under this scheme, not only the gas connection, regulator and pipe are provided free of cost, but the first filled cylinder is also given by the government. Apart from this, a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder is also available on 9 cylinders in a year.
This scheme is for women aged 18 years and above who are SC/ST, BPL cardholders, Most Backward Classes or beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana.
